It never fails...

I can't help but be amazed at how the Lord presents himself in the beauty of the ocean! It is simply breathtaking -the pounding waves crashing onto the rocks, clear breeze blowing through your hair, the colors the sky paints at the setting of the sun."One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD..."His beauty is simply everywhere!

After a sweet wedding shower my friends and I took a trip to Corona Del Mar to play with some sea critters. What we ended up finding was an old flip flop, rubber band, deflated balloon, and tons and tons of little crabs! The sunset was a perfect ending to a great day!

Hooray for Lino!

I'm in love with rubber linoleum! It is an amazing technique in which a sheet of linoleum (sometimes mounted on a wooden block) is used for the relief surface. The design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife V-shaped chisel with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. I use speedball lino cutters. The linoleum sheet is inked with a roller (called a brayer), and then impressed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press. Tomorrow I plan to test the results on fabric!

Jewelry Casting

This is a recent jewelry casting I designed from a carved plaster mold. The process is very simple and easy to make. Having the right tools is the only essential. Next week my students at summer camp will be doing this process as one of their art projects! Very excited to see their take on this activity!

Look at the birds of the air

Matthew 6:26 "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"

See the fowls of the air: they have no anxiety about the supply of their wants; they do not sow or reap; they fill the grove with music, and meet the coming light of the morning with their songs, unanxious about the supply of their needs; yet how few die with hunger. How regularly are they fed from the hand of God! How he ministers to their unnumbered wants! How cheerfully and regularly are their necessities supplied! You, said the Savior to his disciples, are of more consequence than they are; and shall God feed them in such numbers, and suffer you to want? When I see these birds, I am reminded of His promises. My confidence is in the Lord who feeds the fowls of the air. Do not fear that he will also supply your needs. The Lord is in control- always.
